Alexandria, Virginia was included in the 1820-1840 Federal Census records for The District of Columbia.

 

1890 Washington DC Federal Census records were lost in a fire with the exception of remnants for 2 D.C. districts and the Veterans and Widows Schedules. See A Fire Destroyed The 1890 Census & Bridging the 1890 Census Gap.
