Vermont Census Notes:

The 1790 Federal Vermont Census was actually taken in 1791 when Vermont became a state. This can be confusing as an individual may be enumerated in the 1791 Vermont census but may have been enumerated in another state in 1790.  Beware of this common pitfall.

Federal Vermont census records are extant for census years 1790, 1800, 1810, 1820, 1830, 1840, 1850, 1860, 1870, 1880, 1900, 1910, 1920 and 1930.

1890 Federal Vermont census records were totally lost in a warehouse fire.
