Confusing data for 1850 Navarro County, Texas census: If you are searching in Ellis, Tarrant, Navarro, Hill and Johnson Counties 1850 census records, Read this. 1890 Texas Federal Census Schedules were destroyed by fire with the exception of a small fragment of Ellis County, Hood County, Rusk County and Kaufman County.. 1890 Texas Veteran and Widows Census Schedules did survive and can be used to some extent as a census substitute. Greer County, Texas became Greer County, Oklahoma. There were boundary disputes and the boundary lines kept changing. Special boundary research is required for this area. See: Greer County History.
