New Jersey Census Notes
New Jersey Federal census records are available for census years: 1790, 1830, 1840, 1850, 1860, 1870, 1880, 1890, 1900, 1910, 1920, & 1930.
The 1800, 1810 and 1820 New Jersey Federal census schedules were completely lost with the exception of 1800 Cumberland County and an 1820 census for Roxbury, Morris County..
1890 New Jersey Federal Census Records burned in a 1921 fire, with the exception of small remnants of Jersey City of Hudson County.
The NJ 1890 Veterans and Widows schedules did survive the fire and can provide somewhat of a census substitute for this time period.
