1776 & 1778 Special censuses of Maryland. Maryland was enumerated by the Federal government in 1776 and 1778. See Census Search at the Maryland State Archives.
Soundex code (phonetic indexes) for Federal Maryland census records are available on microfilm for the following census years: 1880, 1900 and 1920.
Maryland Federal census records are available to the public for census years: 1790, 1800, 1810, 1820, 1830, 1840, 1850, 1860, 1870, 1880, 1900, 1910, 1920 and 1930. Note: The following Federal census schedules are missing for Maryland: 1790 Allegany, Calvert and Somerset Counties & 1800 Baltimore County (outside of the city).
