August 4, 2008: WHY ARE THERE SO
MANY DEAD LINKS?
This is a serious problem at this
time. As some of you may be aware, many of the genealogy sites
are moving off of RootsWeb and acquiring their own web space.
This is creating an enormous amount of dead links in our census
directory. We are working hard to keep up with them but until
the migration to new sites is complete, our directory will be in
constant transition. We are continuously striving to bring you
the best directory for census records available online.

Links for listing. This project is
ongoing. I am finding
it takes much time to locate all of the available census transcriptions,
images and indexes which are available online. Perhaps this will
help you cut through the hunt and chase. I have added additional
various resources when census records are not available for a particular
area or when I felt they were good census substitutes for a given place and
time period.
Attention! Transcribing old census records is extremely difficult, tedious, pain staking work.
Please remember to thank the volunteers at each site when you locate genealogy information and census records which are helpful to you in your research.
