Arkansas Census Notes:

Arkansas was part of Missouri Territory between 1812 and 1819.

In 1819 when Arkansas Territory was established, it included present day Oklahoma.  Remember this when you search for Arkansas census records.

Arkansas State Census Records were taken in the following years: 1823, 1829, 1865 and 1911. All of these census years are incomplete.

Federal Censuses: The first Arkansas Census Records are for census year 1830 and continued every 10 years.  1830, 1840, 1850, 1860, 1870, 1880, 1900, 1910, 1920 and 1930 Arkansas Federal census schedules are available to the public.

1890 Arkansas Federal Census Records were destroyed including the Veterans and Widows Census.
