Arizona Federal census records are available to the public for census years 1900, 1910, 1920 and 1930.  Also, the Federal government enumerated Arizona Territory in 1870 & 1880. See 1790-1940 US Census Records at Ancestry.

Arizona soundex: There are soundex indexes for census years 1900 and 1920.  There are not any soundex indexes for Arizona census years 1910 and 1930 however these censuses are indexed in the 1790-1940 Census Records Collection Online at Ancestry which includes every name indexes to the Federal censuses.

Arizona state census records are available in partiality for years: 1866, 1867, 1869, 1872, 1874, 1876, 1880 and 1882.  Some of these are included in the Arizona Census Records, 1831-80 at Ancestry.

Arizona school census records beginning in the 1870s can offer help in some areas  These are very spotty but if you find one in the area you are seeking can turn up some genealogical gems.

1890 Federal Arizona census records were completely destroyed by a 1921 warehouse fire. See A Fire Destroyed The 1890 Census, Bridging the 1890 Census Gap

Arizona Great Registers are indexes of voters and some do exist for the 1890s in Cochise and Graham Counties of Arizona Territory.  These can prove helpful as an 1890 AZ census substitute.
