I am finding it takes much time to locate all of the available census transcriptions, images and indexes which are available online. Perhaps this will help you cut through the hunt and chase. I have added additional various resources when census records are not available for a particular area or when I felt they were good census substitutes for a given place and time period.
Attention! Transcribing old census records is extremely difficult, tedious, pain staking work. Please remember to thank the volunteers at each site when you locate genealogy information and census records which are helpful to you in your research.
Census Finder extends a great big THANK YOU to all of you who spend your time and efforts transcribing the countless genealogy records to put online for genealogists. You are very much appreciated! This site reflects all of your hard work and makes the records easily accessible to genealogists around the world!
And for those of you with some spare time on your hands, why not offer to transcribe a census for the USGenWeb Census Project. It can be a very rewarding experience.
